God Bless America....
I will never forget that day....Sept. 11th...It changed America and our security for ever...What were you doing when you heard the news?
Let me tell you a little bit about me...many you know me as Antiquebasketlady....a designer of handbags...but my first love is my day job. I am an RN/Lactation consultant in an OB unit for the past 38 years...helping new babies come in to the world and help new moms master the art of breastfeeding.
We were getting ready to take a mom into surgery for a repeat surgery...imagine your birth date 9/11...when the report came over the TV that the Twin Towers had been hit! My heart sank and our world would change...the joy of .that innocent baby's birth would be over shadowed by the horrific news....
My heart goes out to all those innocent people who lost their lives and those courageous firefighters in not only New York but Washington DC and Pennsylvania.
God Bless America! Land that I love.....

ReplyDeleteI will never forget that day. I worked at 911 at the time in my town and it was just devastating. I know how a small emergency is and its so tramatic but for something of this magnitude to happen it is just too much to bare. I send so much love and prayers to the familys of the loved ones that lost their lives. all the fireman/police/ems/citizens that helped. I cant imagine working their that day. It is a day that makes you realize how luck you are. That you should tell everyone you love how much they mean to you because you dont realize how lucky you are to be an american until something like that happens. God bless everyone. ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted this. I believe that many of us think about 911 rather often. I was just waking up when I heard the tv broadcasting this. I bolted out of bed and cried hysterically...
