How to Grow Orchids

I have always loved orchids, but honestly I have been afraid, if I would have one ...well let's just say I don't have a green thumb!  Maybe from all the sewing I have done over the years...LOL

Hubby brought one home after Christmas and I have been in love with them ever since...

Thought it would be helpful to share some of the things I have learned to raise Phalaenopisi orchids....

1.  Add 3 ice cubes or 1/4 cup water weekly

2.  Place in a bright, well lit location and avoid direct sunlight.

3.  60-85 degrees F never below 40 degrees and locate away from drafts

Here are a few of the others I now have....

  5. Wow, they are beautiful. I too do NOT have a green thumb and steer away from 'Live' plants. Thank you for the tips, perhaps now I will be brave enough to try to have one of these beautiful flowers in my home.
